INCREASING STUDENTS' WRITING ABILITY BY USING WH-QUESTIONS TECHNIQUE
Abstract
The objective of this study is to increase students' writing ability by using WH-Questions Technique in writing ability and to figure out the responds of students in using WH-Questions Technique in their writing abilty at third grade of SMP Negeri 1 Banda Aceh. In this research, there was one class taken which consist of 32 students. The data was obtained from students' test sheet. There are two methods of test to collect the data by quantitative design, namely pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test was 38,5 and the mean score of post-test was 73,68. It means that the means score of post-test is higher and increase than the mean score of pre-test. Those scores were used to determined t-score, while the result of t-score is 12,8. In addition, t-table at the significance level of 0,05 is 2,120. The result showed that t-score is higher that t-table. Ho Rejected and Ha Accepted if t-score more than t-table. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that there was increasing of students writing ability by using WH-Questions Technique.
