Abstract

The research aims to know the students' response to the online learning speaking process at SMA Keberbakatan Olaharaga Negeri (SMAKON). The design of this study is descriptive quantitative research. Based on the research design, the conceptual framework about the questionnaires for all students of eleventh grade by using google form. Furthermore, the population of this study is all students of the eleventh grade of SMA Keberbakatan Olahraga Negeri (SMAKON) Banda Aceh. The total population is 43 students, who are composed of two classes, class XI IPA 1 and class XI IPS 1. Class XI IPA I consists of 24 students and class XI IPS 1 consisted of 19 students. On the other hand, since the population of this study is only 43 students, the students are taken as a sample of this study and the sample is named as census or total sampling. Thus, the total sample of this study is 43 students. In addition, the instrument that is used in collecting data is a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 20 questions that describe the students' response to the online learning speaking process. The questionnaire form is a closed questionnaire because the writer will prepare answers in multiple choice for every question. Furthermore, the data obtained is analyzed by using percentage. Based on the result of the study, that learning to speak through the online learning process increases the knowledge of students, not only vocabulary but also fluency.
