Abstract
Poetry writing skills are one of the materials contained in Indonesian subjects. The main factor that causes low ability to write poetry in students is that students still have difficulty getting ideas, in other words the ideas owned by students have not developed well. In addition, the lack of application of interesting learning models makes students less interested in poetry writing lessons. The problem formulation in this research is whether quantum learning model can improve poetry writing skills in grade X SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh? The purpose of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Quantum Learning learning model in improving the ability to write poetry of grade X students of SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. The research method used is experiment research with one-group pre-test-post-test design. The sample in this study was all grade X students of SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh which numbered 63 people. Instruments in this research is a test in the form of essays. Data analysis techniques using t- test techniques. The research showed that from the average value of the initial test (pretest) before the Quantum Learning model was applied, namely 56.85 and the final test (posttest) after the Quantum Learning model was applied, namely 79.77. Thus, the results of the study that there is an improvement in students' poetry writing skills using quantum learning models using test instruments in the form of essays. Based on the findings, it was concluded that students' poetry writing skills taught through quantum learning models effectively improve and achieve success in grade X students of SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. The suggestion given based on the results of this research that quantum learning models are very effective is applied in the learning of poetry writing skills and teachers are expected to be able to equip themselves with knowledge about the learning model and involve students in the learning process so that students do not feel bored and learning objectives can be achieved as they should.
