Abstract
This study aims to determine: (1) the effect of Discovery Learning and Think Pair Shared learning models on science learning outcomes in grade IV SD; (2) the influence of learning motivation on science learning outcomes in grade IV SD; (3) the interaction between Discovery Learning and Think Pair Shared learning models in terms of student learning motivation towards science learning outcomes in class IV SD. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population of this study were all fourth grade students of SD Negeri 16 Kota Banda Aceh. The sample in this study was class IV A and IV B. The sampling technique in this study was using total sampling. The research instrument was a science learning achievement test and a motivation questionnaired. The data analysis technique used was two-way ANOVA at a significant level of Alpha 0.05. The results of this study indicated that: (1) there is an effect of the learning model Discovery Learning and Think Pair Share on science learning outcomes in grade IV SD, this can be seen from the average learning outcomes for DL class of 81.87, and the average student learning outcomes in the TPS class. amounting to 74.27 with a sig value. 0,000; (2) there is an effect of learning motivation on science learning outcomes in grade IV SD, this can be seen from the mean learning outcomes of highly motivated students of 81.87, while students with low motivation are 74.27, with a sig.0,000 value; (3) there is no interaction between Discovery Learning and Think Pair Shared learning models in terms of student learning motivation towards science learning outcomes in grade IV SD, with a sig. 0.086.
