Abstract
Critical thinking is a potential possessed by everyone, can be measured, trained, and developed. The mathematical skills of critical thinking can encourage students to bring about new ideas or thoughts about the problem. As critical thinking people ideally have some basic criteria or elements abbreviated to FRISCO (Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview). The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the mathematical critical thinking ability to study achievement of SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of associative research. Data collection methods are conducted with test techniques, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. In the first select samples are given questionnaires (Angket) The mathematical critical thinking ability that resulted in as many as 30 subjects, subsequently given the test of the mathematical critical thinking ability with PIM material (mathematical induction proof) and the ranks and series with which included classification of the level of 32 critical thinking ability of mathematical Further from the results of the comparison of all tests then acquired 26 samples of the total number of 62 subjects that had a classification of the level of critical thinking skills mathematically to the students ' mathematics learning achievement at SMA Negeri 3 Banda ACEH with the result of correlation value of R= 0.4642 and simple linear regression equation Ŷ=75.9332 + 0.1672 X. It can thus be concluded that there is considerable positive influence between the mathematical critical thinking ability to the learning achievement of SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh. The advice of researchers is to pay more attention to the skills of critical thinking of students, because if the students have a good mathematical thinking skills, the better the mathematical performance of learning.
