ABSTRACT Jefri Arian. 2020. An analysis of Teacher's Strategy in teaching Reading at Senior High School 12 Banda Aceh. Thesis, English Education Department Teacher Training And Education College (STKIP) Bina Bangsa Getsempena, Advisor(I)Sri Wahyuni, M. ,Pd, Advisor (II) Regina Rahmi, M. Pd. This research tries to analyze the teacher's strategies in teaching reading at SMA 12 Banda Aceh. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and the research used observation, questionnaire, and document analysiss as the method of collecting data. The objective of this research is to know the English teacher' strategies in teaching reading. the result of research is the english teacher impleenting three strategies in teaching reading. they are scaffolding, qars, (Question and Answer Relationship), and direct intraction strategy. Based on the observation, documentation analysis, and the data of questionnaire shows that the english teacher implement all the strategies in teaching reading. Moreover, the data from questionnaire revealed that most of the students agree that the english teacher has good ability in teaching reading by using those strategy.
